Hampstead Heaven

Hi all

Things are as busy as ever with the shop and internet not to mention our new program of events is out. In July we have some fantastic events happening so check out the program by clicking the link below

http://www.thecraftingshed.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page_2

We have had some lovely new products arrive in the last couple of weeks like the Hampstead range from Papermania. I'm not a lover of paper packs personally I prefer to buy singles however I love this set. I cant get enough of the lovely rich colours and wonderful patterns. The card above is made using papers from this range and I think it has to be my favourite card that I have ever made. I know its not special, or different or anything extra ordinary however its still my fav I LOVE IT !!!!

Next week we have the arrival of Petal Pushers from Bo Bunny to look forward to as well as some lovely new embellishments and flowers, cant wait to see what we can create with those.

Hi All

Well it's been a while since updating you all, so heres a quick catch up for you. The shop is now open and you can find us:-

2c Station Rd
Mundesley
Norfolk
NR11 8JH

We have some lovely new products in store which I will be adding to the website over the next few weeks (if I can find an extra 3 hours a day that is).

We now have a really big table and loads of chairs and are unveiling a workshop program in the next few weeks. Please email me at karen@thecraftingshed.co.uk for more details.

So as you might guess I haven't had much time for actual crafting in the last few weeks but just for you guys I did manage to whip up a quick card today using a Sugar Nellie stamp with are available in store.

The New Shop

Hi all

Sorry for the lack of posts. We are very busy with the opening of our new store which is in Mundesley Norfolk.

We hope to return to normal after friday 21st may

Newly recovered first aid box for the office !

Its Offical spring is well on its way, the sun is starting to feel a little warmer and the evenings are drawing out (well it is only a few weeks till the clocks change). Here in the shed we have been really busy with our new spring ranges. The products are lovely and I'm especially fond of the wild blossom with it's lovely spring colours and patterns. Although time for crafting just hasn't been part of the deal these last few weeks I did manage to hastily put this sample together to show you all.

We also have My minds eye, Wild Asparagus in store which I'm hoping to have chance to play with in the very near future. This is a range I really love the colours and accessories are endless. One of the most popular scrap booking manufacturers its a delight to look at and torture to have not yet had change to get my hands on it.

On a sad note I must announce a change to our show details for this year unfortunately Worstead have decided to cancel their festival and so we are now show less in July. Hopefully another event will arise and we will be able to make up for losing a weekend where we can meet some of you.

Hi all

Thought I would let you all know what’s happening in store this week.
It’s a very busy time at the moment with products arriving all the time and events to be planned.

We do have a few dates for your diaries already.

Another thing I wanted to tell you all about is postage. As some of you will know currently we have flat rate postage in store. This system means that you pay a one rate whatever is in your trolley. We are pleased to announce that we have now changed the programme so shipping is staged dependent on amount spent. So now if you just require one item it no longer costs £2.50 to Get It!! Postage starts at just 80p and is free over £25 (for full details please check our shipping page)
Lastly we are also having this year’s first watercolour workshop on Friday there is one place still available see our Facebook page for more details.

Hi all,
It’s been another busy week here in the shed. The first bit of news I have for you is our new competition which is for a £20 gift Voucher to use in store. The idea is a simple one create a card using products from the Pepper and Friends range and send it to us before the 31st March to be in with a chance of winning. Full terms available at www. thecrafting shed. co. uk.

The second bit of gossip I have for you is the news of our latest investment a display trailer which we are hoping to have ready for the show season. It needs some signs and a few modifications but nothing too major then it should serve well and hopefully protect us from the Lovely British Summer.
Product wise we have a lot happening with new ranges on order from Laura Ashley and wild Blossoms. We also have some new tools and other exciting items on route to the shed so look out for more details coming soon.
Don’t forget we have our first watercolour workshop of the year on the 2nd February. Details are posted on facebook (or if you require any information please don’t hesitate to contact me on Karen@thecraftingshed.co.uk ). I will post some pictures afterwards for you to see how we all get on.
I had my second patchwork class this week which was a welcome release after having a sick child off nursery and stuck at home poorly and bored. So I thought I would show you my efforts so far.

Please note that the design is by Sally Holman and Copywrited.
This is the first block of 12 that make the final quilt and I must Say I have really enjoyed it so Far. Just the time to relax if nothing else is nice but also the chance to create something just for no other reason than wanting to. You see when you turn a hobby into a job you get a double edged sword in many ways it’s lovely, I get to work at something I Love and lm lucky I know but I spend my time crafting samples or planning workshops. The course allows me 3 hours every 2 weeks to create Just for me and its stopping the sewing machine gathering dust.

It's been an exciting few days at the shed with the arrival of some new friends!! Yes finally Pepper and Friends have arrived and Oh My God they are sooooooooooooo cute!!!. The kids where in the office Friday when they were delivered and fell instantly in love with the little dog and his mates, screaming and demanding to take the whole range home to create with(honestly I would never make a penny with my girls they would have my whole stock in a second).

Here are my efforts with the new range.

I must say I am very impressed with this range the combination of cute characters, backing papers with glitter and other elements make them a joy to create with for young and old alike.

Date for your diary !

2 Feb 2010

The first watercolour workshop of the year

Held at North Walsham.

10am till 1pm

£12.50

Email karen@thecraftingshed.co.uk for details

Else where in the shed we have been trying to finalise the events list for this year which is proving difficult with so many shows and other outside factors but hopefully we will have a program ready within the next couple of weeks.

On a more personal note as I don't only want to ramble on about work I have enrolled on a course and I can currently be found learning how to patchwork properly on Monday mornings. Why you may ask? The problem you see with working within your hobby is you very rarely get the chance to create just for the sake of creating. I usually focus everything on the business, its not that I'm complaining I enjoy crafting in any way I can but tend to craft samples not just "oh I will stitch that or create this card" its always for a reason or workshop or show etc. So I picked patchwork as I have never had much luck with my own self taught efforts (Photos of my efforts will follow).
