Hi all,
It’s been another busy week here in the shed. The first bit of news I have for you is our new competition which is for a £20 gift Voucher to use in store. The idea is a simple one create a card using products from the Pepper and Friends range and send it to us before the 31st March to be in with a chance of winning. Full terms available at www. thecrafting shed. co. uk.

The second bit of gossip I have for you is the news of our latest investment a display trailer which we are hoping to have ready for the show season. It needs some signs and a few modifications but nothing too major then it should serve well and hopefully protect us from the Lovely British Summer.
Product wise we have a lot happening with new ranges on order from Laura Ashley and wild Blossoms. We also have some new tools and other exciting items on route to the shed so look out for more details coming soon.
Don’t forget we have our first watercolour workshop of the year on the 2nd February. Details are posted on facebook (or if you require any information please don’t hesitate to contact me on Karen@thecraftingshed.co.uk ). I will post some pictures afterwards for you to see how we all get on.
I had my second patchwork class this week which was a welcome release after having a sick child off nursery and stuck at home poorly and bored. So I thought I would show you my efforts so far.

Please note that the design is by Sally Holman and Copywrited.
This is the first block of 12 that make the final quilt and I must Say I have really enjoyed it so Far. Just the time to relax if nothing else is nice but also the chance to create something just for no other reason than wanting to. You see when you turn a hobby into a job you get a double edged sword in many ways it’s lovely, I get to work at something I Love and lm lucky I know but I spend my time crafting samples or planning workshops. The course allows me 3 hours every 2 weeks to create Just for me and its stopping the sewing machine gathering dust.

It's been an exciting few days at the shed with the arrival of some new friends!! Yes finally Pepper and Friends have arrived and Oh My God they are sooooooooooooo cute!!!. The kids where in the office Friday when they were delivered and fell instantly in love with the little dog and his mates, screaming and demanding to take the whole range home to create with(honestly I would never make a penny with my girls they would have my whole stock in a second).

Here are my efforts with the new range.

I must say I am very impressed with this range the combination of cute characters, backing papers with glitter and other elements make them a joy to create with for young and old alike.

Date for your diary !

Else where in the shed we have been trying to finalise the events list for this year which is proving difficult with so many shows and other outside factors but hopefully we will have a program ready within the next couple of weeks.

On a more personal note as I don't only want to ramble on about work I have enrolled on a course and I can currently be found learning how to patchwork properly on Monday mornings. Why you may ask? The problem you see with working within your hobby is you very rarely get the chance to create just for the sake of creating. I usually focus everything on the business, its not that I'm complaining I enjoy crafting in any way I can but tend to craft samples not just "oh I will stitch that or create this card" its always for a reason or workshop or show etc. So I picked patchwork as I have never had much luck with my own self taught efforts (Photos of my efforts will follow).
